Shiloh Middle School8

I am A student at Shiloh middle school. I am very Happy with my grades here, but many students can get distracted. I am in 6th grade and the behavior in many of my classes, is awful. The teachers are great here though. It is just the students that interrupt the learning environment and the teachers where they can hardly even teach. I honestly think there should be more discipline at this school. If your child comes to this school please make sure they are able to put up with this.

I am moving to this area from the Norcross area due to buying a home. What advise would you give? My daughter is a A, B student and exceptionally gifted. I am WORRIED about her progress at this school. What should I look for?

I have a child at the Middle School and 2 at the elementary level.. We came from the Brookwood district and are much happier in the Shiloh District. There is a warmth and caring at Shiloh Middle and at Shiloh Elementary. The education is wonderful, my child is excelling and the teachers are wonderful. There is alot of communication from the teachers and they are available if you have concerns!! We love the Shiloh District!

Took my child out of the Shiloh School district. I've seen way too many disapline problems within the schools here. I feel most of the staff, teachers, and prinicpals are great for the most part and are doing their jobs. More parent involvement is the main key.

The principal is very capable and talks to you when ever you need him, he really is there for the kids.

I have been going to school in the Shiloh district since kindergarten. I have also been consistantly involved in all probe or gifted classes, but find that even being in probe has not kept drama and trouble from my peers. Shiloh has also recently become a Title I school and test scores have gone down quite a bit. Trailers are not a problem anymore because of the newly-built addition(which I will not be able to enjoy because I am in 8th grade). I have personally experienced the downfall of this once highly-acclaimed school and am appalled. I feel that teachers often abuse their authority and disrespect students(in probe) & others have no idea what they're doing. Shiloh is a very dissappointing school.

My youngest is currently a student here, and my oldest is a senior at Shiloh High School, but went through all 3 years at this middle school. The teachers always emailed me progress reports for both of my children. There was no waiting until report card time to know if there was a problem. They are very pro-active in that respect. Both of my children have learned alot at this school. You have to communicate with the teachers right if you feel there is a problem, but that should be done no matter where you child goes to school. I have never seen any pests at this school either, and I go there quite often. Parents....be involved and get your community involved!! Don't rely solely on the schools to teach your kids. Teaching starts in the home!

This school extremely needs improvement. The teachers are unaware of the needs of the student. I mean, they wait until your child brings their report cards home to inform you of their struggle in a particular subject. It was applalling to watch my child struggle here. Oh, by the way, this school has a pest problem. I just want the next parent who is concerned to know. Gwinnett County only focuses on the gifted students and not the children who need help the most help. They are always boasting about Gwinnett County Schools, but its a mirage.

This ia a wonderful school. Sometimees when a person lives in certain areas its very hard for the student, parents need to understand that. There is nothing wrong with this school it's very nice and the teachers CARE about the students and they strive for them to succed to their best capability!

This school is awesome i think just about evryone cares about thier grades here whether they make good grades or not. Its not over crowded and there isnt 20 trailers they have awesome guest speakers like authors of various books and a lot of the teachers care about the students even though they have no idea wats goin on with the students life. Its not really their fault. Thye have lots of diversity and a lot of the students have a real open i speak from experience. Your child will have lots of friends and be accepted.

This school is ok but i don't really think that anyone cares about their grades except the probe students. Being a probe student i care about my grades and am already considering which colledge i want to go to. While the non probe student just like to start alot of drama and talk about how one boy is hotter etc. Though it would be nice if the bathrooms were clean and there wasn't always toilet paper hanging from the ceiling.

I love Shiloh....I completely disagree with what the other ignorant person who wrote their cries of the world, had to say. Shiloh has its problems, but what middle school doesn't?

I think Shiloh Middle School is a good school. The only problem I have with Shiloh is that the teachers does not contact payrent when your child is falling behind math, SS etc.. I know it's teachers responsiblity to keep up on top of all students academics. It's will be nice if they teacher let you know your child is falling any subject before the report cards or any test come out.

This school is not very big and not very clean expetioally the bathrooms. The students grades are horrible. No one here really cares about there grades. Most of the the people here just care about starting drama or seeing there friends or doing nothing and just being there because they have too. The students here are very bad. The teachers are very unfair and wish-washy. The parents are barely involved. I can't wait till I leave this school and go to another high school outside of the shiloh distrist. I really do dislike this school. It is not even a school, it is a big drama fest social scene. And one of the worst parts is that it is very overcrowded. There are about 20 tralers that are occupied by students from shiloh middle. The classes are completely filled, and ther diversity isn't even there. Basacally dont go to this school.

My fourteen year old son was attending this school for his three years of junior high. Even though his grades were not the best and his behaivor was not very well, I could tell he had alot of fun here and enjoyed the school's programs and teachers. I would recommend this school to anybody who likes for their child to be happy when attending middle school.
