Shiloh is an amazing school with a great IB/AP curriculum. This year I would say don't sign your students up for theatre. The teacher was absolutely terrible. She never helped up prepare for the final at all. When I saw it I couldn't believe I learned nothing from the final and I think its so unfair. Why should won trifling teacher get to ruin your GPA.

My daughter and I were skeptical about Shiloh in the beginning because we were unfamiliar with the school but it turns out it was the best decision we made over Brookwood, Parkview, and Grayson with her going to the 9th grade. The school is not only challenging in it academics (Gwinnett County overall) but the extracurricular activities such as an (EXCEPTIONAL BAND & DIRECTOR) band, (New former Div 1 girls basketball coach) basketball, and (State Champions 2014) track program open the doors for her to grow and she absolutely loves her school. Now she says she is attending college with no doubts about going to Howard University without me (Parent) pushing her. The modern homes and convenience of shopping, commute to Atlanta or leaving the district keeps me loving where we stay. Don't sleep on this school!

Shiloh had THREE Ivy League admissions this year (2014) with two children definitely to attend. We had a Yale Admission last year as well. We also had one child who turned down USNA in Annapolis after a decision to stay in ATL for college. We also has an admission to the University of Kansas Medical Center's accelerated six year Medical School in Kansas City, KS, which is one of the nations most competitive programs.

Moved to GA from Cali this past September and I'm happy to say that i am very satisfied with this school. The only issue that I have is with my daughters old counselor, this past semester I found out that she was about to retire which means she didn't give my newly enrolled daughter enough time to talk about her senior year which is coming up. So as of right now we are still scrambling to get it together.

Based on the Shiloh High School accountability report on the Gwinnett County Public Schools website ACT reading and math scores have plummeted since 2005. Shiloh ACT scores are below the national average, the Gwinnett County average, and the state of GA average. The number of students taking and successfully completing Advanced Placement courses has dropped like a stone since 2005. It is a very dismal report card for Shiloh HS. It is not racial, it is bad bad bad test scores and getting worse test scores. Shiloh HS might be a place where students and parents enjoy themselves and feel warm and fuzzy, but the school based on academics is a failure factory. Research the facts and make your own evaluation based on reality not dreams.

I feel that when my grandsons entered SHS the parents no longer had control over what happened to their child academically. Both of my grandsons were given 2-3 physical education classes during one semester. They were not allowed to change the classes. They trusted their counselor to lead them in the right direction. I tried to contact the counselor several times by phone, she never returned mycalls. The parent portal is good for getting grades, however, there is not a way to contact teachers if you have a question about your child. Another topic is: poor communtcation between teacher and parents until it is too l;ate. There is a parent teacher meeting-I did not find out about it until I received a newsletter one month later. Children are expected to be responsible and the communication is between the child and the teacher and/or counselor.

Again I would say the large number of Ivy League admissions coming from Shiloh in very recent years speaks for itself. This is unheard of even among the pricey private schools in Atlanta.

My Dentist is black and he graduated from Shiloh and he sends his kids there. I am white and I send my kids there after I found out he does. We have a weekend house there and a home in Atlanta due to my husbands disdain for commuting. So I had a choice and Shiloh was it. We are very pleased. Several of the kids have one and some two European parents and it is fun to chat with them at functions. I am told the Elementary School is good too.

This school produces many students that excel and go to top universities each year.It is a school that gets a bad reputation because it is predominately black.I think this rating is given because of that and it only tarnishes the reputation of this excellent institution.

I lived in the Shiloh community for 6 years from grade 6-11 before having to move recently. This school, as life in general, is as good as you make it; I had a worthwhile education because I worked to have that kind of education. Those that say it is a bad school made it bad for themselves. A majority of students are friendly and the diversity is truly prevalent. There are amazing teachers as well, I learned a lot from most of the teachers I had. I enjoyed my time at Shiloh and I find myself missing it. All in all, Shiloh is a great school that is trying to make itself better with improvements on different areas. Class of 2010! I hope this helped.

This is my first year at Shiloh, and I am very pleased with the school year thus far. People have been very friendly to me and my friends. Everyone I know that is attending or has attended Shiloh High School has had an overall good experience, with the positives outweighing the negatives. Shiloh is a good school, and I think most of the other students would agree.

Shiloh is a great school. I had one child to Graduate in 2004 and I have two Seniors presently attending. Parent involvement is the key.

I have been in the Shiloh Community for 13 years and have been a Very Involved Parent. I know this has a direct impact on my comfort level with the school and its challenges as well as famaliarizes me with its successes. I know SHS has opportunites for improvement but the issues at the school are not any greater than at other HS the issues are far greater than SHS. It is interesting that the ratings of the schools have a direct relationship with the ratial makeup of the school. It is not time to pull the race card but just check ourselves realistically. Community support in the higher rated schools is a major component.
