Liberty Middle School8

Outstanding! We've had excellent teachers throughout our Liberty experience. Challenging excellerated/advanced programs as well as autism services. ITeam program promotes camaraderie, team spirit, and discipline that is missing in most schools these days.

It was a great school until two years ago when mrs.stovall decided to srew up everyone by adding iteam she should have left it the way it was. The teachers all loved it before now somemof my favorite teachers are thinking about leaving because of her. Though in other words the band programm is amazing mr.tyree makes everyone work very hard. I am now in hifhschool and because of him im already first chair

Liberty is the worst school ever. It's based off of HARRY POTTER and the principle is way to caught up in iteam. She is self centered and not friendly what so ever. The 8th grade teachers are terrible. My daughter has only liked one teacher she has had at liberty in the past 3 years. They are mostly rude and don't care if you understand something or not. Plus; the kids get a "citation" way to easy like for not standing when they talk?! My daughter hates this school but we haven't been able to transfer any where else. ADVICE: if you can transfer before your 6th grade year! DO IT! they are not making her 8th grade experience good at all! They split all the kids up so they are on different halls and she is with none of her friends. THEY NEED A CHANGE!

If your child struggle at school there is a solution - Liberty Middle School ! This school introduced newest version of "No child left behind" program called " I Team". Next year the whole school will become one big team. This will take away huge amount of burden called teaching from teachers shoulders !Try not to pay attention to extremely confused about this program kids and parents. There is bunch of hard working kids anyone can always depend on and they will do all the work to raise your child grades and the school ranking otherwise they will be punished with lower grades as a "team member"... If even this wont help you can always be sure that there will be some hands holding and teacher and kids praying going on at the school hallways( yes! in public school !). Good luck !

My child really enjoys this middle school. Of course the principal really does try to push the little "iteam" program (mainly in existence to help the kids that have difficulty learning in a classroom setting). Curriculum is not challenging but I don't blame the school rather the new "Core Curriculum" Standards that the state of Georgia has adopted. The band program is great, contrary to the last poster, all kids are evaluated and tested by other music teachers from outside the school to see what fits them best. If the parent were to attend a band meeting they would understand the procedures..

I agree with the earlier poster. The principal has no control over the school. Ludicrous "policies" that are set in stone. More concerned about their band trophies than letting kids play what they want. Ridiculous, self-centered egomaniacs.

My son has attended several schools across the United States due us being in the military. This is the WORST school he has ever attended. Everything is done on who you know. If you want on the football team, you have to either played the year before, be on the booster, or coaches son. The principal has NO control over the staff. It is a shame.

Great area to live and a wonderful teaching staff. My son has had a great middle school experience. I hope the high school is up to the same standard.

This is an awesome school and love it. I have been a student here since 2007 and i haven't stopped loving it since i have been here. The teachers are awesome and know exactly what there talking about and most of them even have there doctors degree. There are plenty of extra curricular activities to do including some great sports. Liberty has gotten several awards for our crcts and plenty of others. Anybody would be crazy not to go to this school. The lunches are awesome they staff is nice and it's a school in which you can learn and have fun at the same time. So why don't you come check it out. Thanks

Turnover at the school is so high that it's almost like its a new school every year...With new faces. The school will never improve until it has new leadership. Extracurricular activities--everything this parent mentioned is offered at almost every school. It happens to be a state law that for a student to participate in athletics, they must have reached the seventh grade. So that's not liberty's idea. I also believe the minimum grade average is also a requirement at most or all Georgia schools to remain on an athletic squad.

This is a great school for your child to attend. My child attends this school and she loves it. She is in many groups that Liberty has to offer. They have cheerleading, basketball, football, many clubs also band and chorus. If you are in 6th grade you can be in groups but they want you to be more experienced with the way the school works before you can try out for any squads such as football, basketball, or cheerleading. they are really strick on your grades and the dress code. If you are on a squad you have to maintain a high c average. As you can see, this is a really good school. They offer you so much and give you so many chances to improve and be the best you can be and also be able to have fun at the same time. So come join Liberty Middle Patroits.

This is a horrible school. No physical activity whatsoever for most kids. P.E. Only offered one quarter a year to kids in band or chorus. No outside space for kids if they don't play football. Poor teacher quality. A ridiculous rotating block schedule where everyday kids have different academic classes at different times of the day. They only have instruction in academic classes two or three times a week (it alternates). Principal is nonexistant and cancels school events without informing parents. 8Th grade field trip cancelled. 8Th grade breakfast cancelled. They use kids to raise money for local and national charities but don't have outside lunch benches. Outside play equipment. Any recesses whatsoever. Go to a school if you must in forsyth in the southern part of the county. Better educated teachers (they actually will use proper grammer and syntax), there will be more emphasis on academics and the arts .

I taught at this school it's opening year in 2002-03. I was very impressed by its organization and the challenging curriculum it offered to students. Helping students succeed and be their best was a pleasure. However, the administration is a big disappointment. While the principal knows her job well, she is very ruthless and extremely manipulative. Her tyranical reputation has sunk teacher morale, and the school has lost a lot of good teachers as Liberty continues to suffer from high turnover.
