If you value your child's education then this is not the school for them. The atmosphere is one that hinders ambition.

Appalachee High has one of the most caring principals I've ever met. My son is graduating this year and continuing his post secondary journey at UGA. AHS has equipped him with the neccesary knowledge and skills he needs to be successful. The open-door policy for parents is refreshing and I personally am thankful I felt I could always call or come by to get any concerns or questions answered. My son excels in both academics and athletics, so I do have to commend Head Coach Davis as well.

This is an extraordinary school. I moved here my freshman year. I have been encouraged to do my best and try harder every step of the way. I've got an "A" average and I've completed four AP courses all with A's through the support of my teachers. Every time I needed extra help my teachers would volunteer without a moments hesitation to stay after school with me. There have been a couple classes that weren't the best, but you get that no matter where you go. Overall I've been very pleased with this school and te opportunities it's given me.

I love this school and after being in private school for three years, I was pleasantly suprised with Apalachee. The principal and most of the staff really care about the students' well being. I thought coming in to a public high school after being in a private one for so long would be a culture shock, but it really wasn't. Yes, the school has its problems, but overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is considering attending.

I have had the honor to have 2 daughters attend this high school, administration is EXCELLENT, the curriculum is challenging and college preparatory. I am happy to say, Apalachee H.S. in Barrow County, Winder GA, is a cut above the 'highly desired' Gwinnett County Schools.

I think AHS is probably the best school that I have been to. I have been to quite a few school. But yet I believe this is by far the best school. I love the people here, they are very nice. The principal is very friendly, you can always see him there at all the athletic events and any events the school has . The teachers are very kind and do what they can to help each student there is. I belive it is a great school. And yet I don't understand why the school district shows more favoritism tword Winder Barrow

In my opinion and experience this school has got to have more tolerance for special education students. Attending this school for some disabled students is punshment enough without the adminatration punishing them further for their actions directly related to their disability. We have had nothing but trouble from day one and our child never felt comfortable and will be finishing the senior year elsewhere.

Ok I went to AHS 4 years graduated from it and even tho AHS wasn't the best all around it wasn't the worst. Sure it had its problems, but it still wasn't that bad and they are working to improve it as we speak. I made some great friends there and the teachers I had were awesome and was heart broken when some of them left. The Fine Arts program is outstanding (especially when I was there) Yes we had money trouble but we still put on one heck of a performance. The football team has improved sense I have been there and the Band has always been great. AHS is a great place. I am a Film Student now and I am excelling in editing but what help me realize this dream was going to AHS and doing little projects at AHS helped me realize my talent

AHS is the one of the worst schools I have ever seen. They think more about the football program than the educational part of the school. They also have the most disorganized program I have ever seen. How can they teach the students to be on time when the coaches haven't a clue about time or schedules. Sports don't help the kids as much as an education. The coaches talk about what college is watching who. When they should be teaching them about what an education will do for you. Because only 1 in 10,000 kids will be picked by a college team or get a scholarship, but everybody can get a good education. Wake up AHS, help the kids.
